Hello Everyone, Maroon 5 here with an official announcement that our keyboardist Jesse Carmichael will be taking a temporary break from the band to pursue more full time studies in music and the healing arts while the rest of us, including PJ Morton (who will continue to tour with the group) make the fourth album and take it on the road. The album was recorded between 20 and was driven after the moderate success of their third album Hands All Over (2010) and later by the successful re-release single Moves Like Jagger. The album includes such stand out tracks as the emphatic Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa, the irresistible One More Night and the rythmic ballad Beautiful Goodbye. Overexposed is the fourth studio album by the American pop rock band Maroon 5. Maroon 5 began writing and recording the album during their most recent world tour and the resulting collection is chock-full of undeniable, anthemic melodies. It wasn’t noted much at the time, but founding keyboardist Jesse Carmichael sat out Maroon 5’s 2012 album Overexposed a circumstance that just happened to coincide with Adam Levine capitalizing on his Voice-fueled stardom. Maroon 5’s musicianship and frontman Adam Levine’s vocals are as distinct as ever on Overexposed, continuing to showcase the band’s ability for creating songs that have become part of the fabric of pop and rock music today. The group’s fifth studio album features singles Maps and Animals. This is our most “pop” record ever and we weren’t shy about really going for it.” We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band. Guitarist James Valentine added, “ Moves Like Jagger was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record. I can’t wait for our fans to hear the record, as well as hitting the road to play it live for everyone later this year.” Adam Levine acknowledges that the title of the new Maroon 5 album is something of an inside jokea wink at the Los Angeles-based band’s seeming omnipresence, particularly in the wake of the frontman’s joining the cast of NBC’s The Voice and of Moves Like Jagger, the 2011 smash that topped. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine said of the release, “ Overexposed is definitely one of our most diverse and poppiest albums yet.
